There has been a new long-term study done by the University of California, drinking alcohol could be the key to prolonging your life. The study suggests that it could extend your life into your 90's -and dare I say even more than exercising as we've thought over the years.

Does it seem like more people are living into their 90's? They are and the reason may be alcohol.

The current crop of research was started in 2003 and was lead by a cal neurologist Claudia Kawas. Claudia tracked 1,700 people who are in their 90's and examined daily habits on longevity.

The study discovered that those who drank roughly two glasses of beer or wine a day were18 percent less likely to experience a premature death. This really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone as you see people in there 90's that are asked what their secret is too a long, healthy life and they say a glass of wine or beer every day.

Now if you are one of those people that like to work out every day for 15 to 45 minutes bless you but you only reduce your risk of premature death by 11 percent. Don't forget, don't drink and drive.
