A recent science vessel managed to capture video of the rare "oarfish" off the coast of Mexico. The Regalecus glesne, or "Oarfish" as it is commonly known, is the longest bony fish in the world and is often mistaken for many sea monster sightings. Scientists estimate this specimen to be 2.5 meters (~8 feet) but some specimens have been reported as large as 49 feet!
