Rachael Mattice, the Johnstown woman accused of lying about being abducted, is facing more charges. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Department says she stole pills not prescribed to her.

Mattice was in court Friday, August 5th where she was issued an appearance ticket and released. She'll be back in court August 16th on petit larceny charges according to the Times Union.

Hamilton County District Attorney Marsha Purdue told the Times Union, the theft allegedly occurred on June 14, before Mattice went missing from her Adirondack camp.

Mattice returned home after being missing almost 2 weeks. She claimed she was kidnapped but was later arrested and charged with reporting a false abduction.

The search for Mattice involved more than 100 police officers, rangers and volunteers.  State Police Major William Keeler told the Times Union the search cost “deep in the six-figures.”  Mattice is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow, August 9th on those charges and faces a year in jail and a fine of $1,000 if convicted.
