Eight months after his untimely death, ABC News has unveiled a new unreleased track from Prince’s Paisley Park vault called “Moonbeam Levels.” The song will appear on the late star's greatest-hits collection titled Prince 4 Ever.

The song is vintage Prince with its signature drums, roaring guitars and a melodic piano riff. However, it has a somber undertone as Prince wails, "Please send all your moonbeam levels to me / I’m looking for a better place to die."

According to ABC News, Prince originally recorded the song in 1982 during the sessions for his iconic 1999 album. Later, the track was also considered for the Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic album.

Prince 4ever will feature 40 of the Purple One's chart-topping hits. In addition, the album includes a 12-page booklet of never-before-seen photos of Prince shot by famed photographer Herb Ritts. The collection is currently available now.

More music is coming from Prince's estate. A deluxe reissue of Purple Rain will be released in 2017. The classic 1984 album will be remastered and reportedly will include unreleased material that was scrapped from the original project. In addition, a second album of previously unreleased Prince material is also in the works.
