A favorite Oneonta restaurant on Route 23 Southside burned to the ground early Saturday morning.

Christopher's was the place to go for happy hour any day of the week in Oneonta NY; friends would sit in front of the fireplace and have a glass of wine or grab a table and enjoy dinner that included a fabulous salad bar. If you've been to Christopher's, then you know the atmosphere was that of a swanky hunting lodge with lots of wood, leather, animal print, and local memorabilia.

That's all just a fond memory now as the restaurant is a total loss. The Daily Star reports the fire started around 2:20 am on Saturday morning and was fully involved shortly after. At least 13 fire departments were called in to assist with water shuttles as there are no fire hydrants in that area. An investigation is underway to determine a cause.
