Geneso Police believe the deaths of three people near an upstate New York college campus are a murder-suicide.

A police spokesman says the bodies of two young men and a young woman were discovered early yesterday at a house a few blocks from SUNY-Geneseo.

The victims have been identified as SUNY Geneseo students Kelsey Annese and Matthew Hutchinson, and former student Colin Kingston.

College officials say Annese was a senior from Webster and a member of the women's basketball team.  Hutchinson was a senior from Canada, a member of the hockey team.

He was also a member of the Geneseo volunteer fire department.

The "Buffalo News" reports police got a call from a man who said his son had told him he'd just killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.

Police have scheduled a news conference for 2:00 to release more information.

UPDATED 4:16-  Geneseo Police are revealing more information about the three young people found dead on Sunday in a house in that village south of Rochester.

Authorities say that  24 year old Colin Kingston, a former SUNY Geneseo student was distraught over the recent breakup with his girlfriend, 21 year old Kelsey Annese (uh-NEE-zee), a current student at Geneseo , and went to her off-campus house early Sunday , finding here there with 24 year old Matthew Hutchinson of British Columbia, another Geneseo senior.

Officers say there was an altercation, and both Annese and Hutchinson were stabbed with a large knife. Police say after calling his father to tell him what happened, Kingston later killed himself with the knife.

SUNY Geneseo President Denise Battles extended condolences to the families and friends of all three of those who died:  "they're undoubtedly experiencing unspeakable grief and they will remain in our thoughts  and our prayers; it's a profoundly sad day for all of us at SUNY Geneseo and in the village as we begin to mourn these heartbreaking deaths"

Battles says classes will resume Tuesday as scheduled, and there  will be a remembrance ceremony on Wednesday evening on the campus
