It's still pretty new, but it's going to become a tradition in our area. We're talking about Tomato Pie Day, as planning and organizing gets underway for its third year.

We're sure you have your favorite place for tomato pie, but how many places have you actually tried? Do you go to the same place because it's where your family has always gone? Or did you try a few and find one that you like the best? Well, on "Tomato Pie Day," you'll get the chance to try tomato pie from places all over Central New York. Who knows? You may find a new favorite place for this Utica favorite.

The third annual "Tomato Pie Day" will take place on Saturday, April 6th and goes from 12pm to 4pm at the Parkway Center (on Memorial Parkway). Not only will you get to sample tomato pie from some of the best places in the area, you'll also get to see how it's made, hear stories of the recipe being passed down through generations, and more.

It's a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Utica, and really enjoy one of the unique things this area has to offer: Tomato Pie.

Tickets are available now and are only $3 if you get them in advance. Children 10 and under get in free, and it's $5 if you wait to get your tickets at the event. You can purchase your tickets now and get more information including a list of restaurants/businesses that will have tomato pie to sample, by visiting: ILoveUticaNY.com
