Pink Floyd Fan Jailed for Cranking Late-Night Tunes

Hey, who doesn't like cranking up some Pink Floyd every now and then and playing some mean air guitar to 'Comfortably Numb'? But apparently a fan in England has taken his love of the band a little too far, a little too late in the night and a little too often.

According to SWNS, Paul Foster of Chesterton, Stoke-on-Trent, has been turning up the volume on his Floyd tunes all through the night. Repeated warnings and injunctions in the past have done no good, so now Foster will spend the next 28 days in jail.

At least he had good taste in his Floyd -- no 'Division Bell' or anything like that. SWNS reports that Foster repeatedly played the classic albums 'The Dark Side of the Moon,' 'Wish You Were Here' and 'The Wall.' But leave it to the Man to harsh his late-night buzz: "We do not tolerate antisocial behavior, in particular noise nuisance," said the head of the local housing association.

Still, some of Foster's neighbors dig the Floyd, just not in the middle of the night or played so many times in a row. “Its been a nightmare," said one. "I like Pink Floyd as much as the next man but not when it’s being played 10 times a day until 4 a.m."

One family had reportedly moved because of Foster, who is 51 years old and has lived at the residence for 20 years. Trouble first started last September when he ended up in court for his late-night, dial-to-11 listens to 'The Great Gig in the Sky.' He's run into trouble over this several times since then.

But wait -- it gets even better. Foster occasionally chased his nightly Floyd sessions with some classic old-school soul. “He also seemed to like his late-night love ballads," said a neighbor. "I’ve lost track of the times I’ve heard Barry White and Marvin Gaye coming from the house. But it was mainly Pink Floyd, and I think whenever I hear their songs again I’ll be climbing the walls."
