County Executive Anthony Picente has issued a travel advisory for Oneida County effective immediately.

With snow expected to continue falling throughout the afternoon, and poor visibility and poor road conditions expected, Picente is urging no unnecessary travel until further notice.

A Snow Emergency is in effect in the City of Utica.

There are also snow emergencies in Villages of Whitesboro, Yorkville, Herkimer, Frankfort and Ilion.

The Rome Police Department along with the Department of Public Works is asking all residents of the city to please have their vehicles off the roadway no later than midnight this evening, to help make snow removal efforts easier.
