Phil Collins hasn't released a new album since 2002. He's just five days out from back surgery, and he's talking about his big comeback.

It sounds like he's not a good patient for his doctor. He can't wait to get back in the music game. Rolling Stone reports on how excited he is. "I'm no longer officially retired," he says. "The horse is out of the stable, and I'm raring to go."

Earlier this year he moved to Jenifer Lopez's former house in Miami to be closer to his 10 and 14-year-old sons. He plans on moving a studio into his house and will start recording some new music very soon. His old manager 'Tony Smith' is working on a touring schedule now. He's asking Genesis fans to let him start with a 'solo album' before they start pressuring him for a reunion. The Peter Gabriel line up of Genesis hasn't performed together since 1982.

Timing is good for this to happen. Kids are older now, and they want to see what their dad does. "They were in nappies when I was last on the road. They love my music, and I'd like to take them out so they can enjoy it."
