The domestic violence case between Paul Simon and wife Edie Brickell is officially over. Prosecutors have dropped the charges stemming from an incident at their home in New Canaan, Conn. a few months ago.

CNN reports that the couple will not face any penalty for the skirmish that took place on April 26. According to the police report, they were working in their home studio when a disagreement turned ugly. A shoving match ensued, with Simon receiving a cut on his ear and Brickell's right wrist getting bruised.

Simon and Brickell were released after spending a night in jail. "I got my feelings hurt and I picked a fight with my husband," Brickell said via statement. "The police called it disorderly. Thank God it's orderly now." Simon parroted Brickell's lines about it being nothing serious. “Edie and I are fine. We love each other. We had an argument, that’s all.”

Somehow, in the middle of all this, they released a song called 'I'd Like to Get to Know You,' which eerily enough is about the troubles a couple can face as they grow older together.
