The Mohawk Police Benevolent Association has put together a project called 'Operation Bike Safe' to encourage children to wear their bicycle helmet.

When children 14 and under in the Village of Mohawk are observed wearing their helmet while riding their bike by an officer on patrol, they may be rewarded with a coupon good at McDonalds, Paesano’s Pizzeria or Dunkin Donuts. The child may also receive a 50/50 style ticket that will place them in a drawing for a $50.00 gift certificate to Hummel’s Office Plus for school supplies.

Operation Bike Safe runs from July 4 - August 26, 2016. A small number of helmets have been purchased for children in the Village of Mohawk and are available to those who need them.
