LCpl Jeremy Lasher may be gone, but he's not forgotten. The Oneida Marine was killed by an IED in Afghanistan in 2009, but his family is keeping his memory alive with the 'For Our Heroes: The LCPL Lasher Project.'

Lasher's brother Ryan says Jeremy 'loved to golf and even worked at different courses,' so family and friends are looking to revitalize an Oneida golf course in his name. A piece of the property will be donated for a Veteran's memorial to honor those who have served our country.

'With the purchase and renovation of the property, our foundation will be able to play an active role in reaching out to veterans and their families in order to give back to those who sacrificed so much for us,' explains Lasher.

Lasher says the goal is to 'provide a safe haven and resources for veterans transitioning into society after their end of active service.'

Scholarships

Since Jeremy had a love of art, music, and engineering, a select number of annual scholarships will be awarded to local students who reflect the qualities and aspirations Jeremy possessed

The family hopes to raise $550,000 for 'The Jeremy Lasher' project. It's a big goal but Lasher says 'we were raised to reach our goals.'

LCpl Jeremy Lasher’s life exemplified outstanding service of someone who lived in defense of his family, country and community. He didn’t choose to fight because he hated what was in front of him, he fought because he loved what he left behind.  Lets help the family leave behind a legacy that will live on forever.
