Back in 2011, a couple thousand kayaks and canoes gathered together for something called 'One Square Mile of Hope' on 4th Lake in Inlet in an effort to set the Guinness World Record for the biggest floatilla (conglomerate raft) ever, which they did (1902 boats).

However, last year another group in Michigan surpassed that number by close to two hundred boats, so what does Inlet do? Set it again this past Saturday, blowing away the competition with a new record of 2,718 paddlers and in inclement weather no less! Can you find your boat?

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the bigger purpose of the event is to raise money for breast cancer research (hence the name) and this year they raised over $100k ($20k over their 2011 numbers.) Incidentally this is the THIRD time they've smashed this record. The first time they did so, was back in 2008 raising $52k! So, world... CNY has thrown down the gauntlet once again, what say you?

The formation and floating of the flotilla time-lapsed!
