An investigation by New Hartford Police has led to arrest of two New York City women for possession of counterfeit money.

23-year old Nicole Munoz and 28-year old Jasmine Aviles are facing multiple felony counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and larceny charges.

The two women allegedly used fake money to buy several pieces of merchandise at various stores in New Hartford, including I pads, power tools and clothing.

Police say they were able to locate $2,500 in bogus bills at three different stores.

All of the property obtained from the local retail stores with the counterfeit money has been recovered by police.

Munoz and Aviles also are wanted by several other police agencies across the state for the same type of criminal activity.
