The New York State Legislature has passed a measure that allows cemeteries in the state to offer you the option of being buried with the cremated remains your dog, cat or other domestic animal.  If the bill is approved, it would be up to the individual cemetery to decide if they would allow this.   Religious cemeteries here in the state would be forbidden from doing this.

Last year, state lawmakers passed a law allowing dogs on restaurant patios.  They are also considering a ban on cat declawing in New York.

According to Syracuse.com, it's not yet known if Governor Coumo plans on signing the new cemetery bill into law.
