New York state environmental officials are making some deer management permits available to hunters again starting this Sunday. These permits allow hunting for antlerless deer.

According to CNY Central, these permits will allow hunters to take antlerless deer in specified wildlife management units. The reason for these permits: a way to control populations.

The permits will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis at state hunting license sales outlets. The application fee is $10. Applicants who previously paid the fee will not be charged.

The permits will be for more than a dozen wildlife management units around that state with remaining permits. Find a list of units with available permits HERE.
