According to US News, three Upstate New York cities made a list of the best places to live in the United States for quality of life. One of which, is close to home.

Syracuse, Rochester and Albany have landed on US News' list of 20 best places to live in the country for quality of life. How they came up with the rankings were by looking at crime rates, quality and availability of health care, quality of education, well-being and average commute time.

According to New York Upstate, Syracuse made the list due to commute time:

Edging out its upstate New York neighbors, Syracuse has an even shorter average morning commute of 20.8 minutes – the fifth shortest commute of the 100 metro areas ranked. Syracuse residents not only have more free time outside of work due to the short commute, but they have more money in their pockets as well – Syracuse ranked No. 34 for cost of living, spending less than 31 percent of their income on housing expenses.
