If you've ever dreamed of growing old and eventually retiring here in New York, you may want to reconsider the retiring part. New York has been named the 8th worst state in the nation to retire in. 

According to 13WHAM, the website WalletHub took a look at all 50 states across our nation, and the District of Columbia, to see how each state ranked for retirement. The website took a look at cost of living, number of entertainment options per capita and public hospital rankings. Here's what they had to say about New York:

New York was ranked 51st for number of family and general physicians per 100,000 residents and 49th for adjusted cost of living. For percent of employed residents aged 65 and old, New York placed 27th."

New York also ranked number 3 on the worst state for cost of living. You can read the full report here.
