If you love soda, and want to lose weight, it's a tough road to be on. Diet soda never seems to taste like regular soda and your options are very small. Well if you plan on heading to Japan any time soon Pepsi might have a soda for you. Introducing Pepsi Special.

Pepsi in Japan has launched Pepsi Special which claims to act as a fat blocker. The best part, this isn't a diet soda. You won't get that diet soda taste here. How do they make it?

Made with an indigestible form of dextrin or dietary fiber, Pepsi Special is supposed to reduce the absorption of fat in the body from food intake and help lower cholesterol levels. The latest product innovation out of Pepsi is modeled after the runaway hit of drink manufacturer Kirin Holdings, which launched what it marketed as the world’s first healthy cola drink this past spring.

Japan is pretty advanced on the food market. Consumers there can find everything from fat-fighting chocolate bars to age-defying cocktails. Maybe our food market here will catch up some day.

No word on whether or not Pepsi Special will be available here in the States.
