Journeyman guard Javaris Crittenton, 23, faces a murder charge in the death of a 23-year-old mother who is not believed to be the target of the shooting.

According to reports, Crittenton thought he spotted the man who robbed him earlier this year, and opened fire. The former guard is rumored to be in the Los Angeles area, and remains at large.

Crittenton is best remembered for his role in a December 2009 incident in the Washington Wizards locker room when he and fellow guard Gilbert Arenas pulled guns on each other. He received a year of probation on a misdemeanor gun possession charge, and he was suspended for the rest of that season.

This is a sad story about a troubled player who may not have gotten the message from his suspension, proving Crittenton may have reached even “lower depths.”
