A benefit will be held on May 22nd at the Willowvalle Fire Hall in Chadwicks. This benefit will help with medical costs. Missy herself has researched a new procedure that will help:

My extensive research has lead me to the discovery of a procedure called Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT).  Approximately 80% of the MS patients have had the disease stop progressing and some have even had their disabilities eliminated.

This procedure uses high dose chemotherapy in congruence with one's own stem cells to "reboot" the immune system. HSCT erases the immune system's memory and basically hits the "reset button", working by stopping the underlying MS disease activity and allowing the body a chance to repair itself.

However, as you can imagine, even with insurance, there are many expenses that will not be covered and I must pay out of pocket.  I will need to relocate for 3 months of time of the procedure. In addition, I will have travel, co-pays, deductibles, and will not be able to return to work for a period of time to allow my body to recover."
