Milk Stays at 25 Cents at NYS Fair But Group that Provides It Pulls Out

The group that has provided milk at the New York state fair for the past 60 years won't be pouring this year. New York State Dairy Exhibits Inc. has pulled out of the fair and won't be back until Governor Cuomo is out of office.

The non-profit group pulled out after Governor Cuomo refused to raise milk prices from 25-cents according to Syracuse.com.

Last year the Governor promised $90,000 to cover costs, rather than raising milk prices but according to Localsyr.com, all the money wasn't given to the organization. This year they've decided they can't afford to continuing

NYS Dairy Exhibits President Gary Raiti tells Syracuse.com, "they've made a decision that we cannot control the business, and we just can't cover our costs so we have to discontinue our operation."

A statement from the NYS Fair says the 25-cent milk will continue this year. But who will provide it? And what about the infamous butter sculpture? Will that still happen this year?

The New York state fair runs August 23rd through September 4th.
