Don't ever say "there's nothing to do in Central New York".  In addition to all the outdoor activities, concerts and fairs, there's live, local theatre being made here.  The Rome Capitol Theatre has been hosting "Summerstage" for years, featuring some of the best local talent.  Their first production of the summer, Carousel, is coming up Thursday-Saturday, July 14-16, 2016.

Carousel is a 1945 musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein.  It revolves around a carousel barker, mill workers and fishermen in coastal Maine.  There were several big musical hits from the show - "June Is Bustin' Out All Over", "If I Loved You" and "You'll Never Walk Alone".

You can see our local performers give new life to this classic musical at the historic Rome Capitol Theatre at 7:30pm this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  It's directed by Peter Loftus, under the musical direction of Robert Kolb, and features a local cast, crew and orchestra.  You can find out more and get tickets by clicking here or by calling 315-337-6453.
