As the temperature across Central New York starts to get cooler, we are reminded that winter is on the way. Are you ready for the Lake Effect snow? You may not have too much to worry about.

According to Syracuse.com, AccuWeather is predicting we can expect much less Lake Effect this year:

"A lack of Arctic air for much of the early and midwinter will lead to a weak lake-effect season, causing snowfall and precipitation totals to fall below normal" in the Great Lakes region, AccuWeather.com said."

Does that mean it'll be warmer? Forecasters are very confident that early winter will be warmer than usual, but they aren't as sure about late winter.

Currently this prediction is the exact opposite of the Farmer's Almanac.
