Lake Effect Snow Warning Until 6 AM Friday In Herkimer County

A lake effect snow warning is in effect until 6 AM Friday for Northern Herkimer County and the cities of Big Moose, Eagle Bay, McKeever, Old Forge, Atwell, Nobleboro, and  Northwood.

Heavy lake effect snow is occurring, plan on difficult travel conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, with localized amounts up to 6 inches, are expected along and north of route 28.

The lake effect is in the extreme northern Herkimer County. Until 6 am Friday.

If you are traveling to this area be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times, travel will be very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle.
