Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is one of our favorite places in Utica.  It really is remarkable to have so many art treasures so easily accessible.

Currently MWPAI is hosting a special exhibit - "Monet to Matisse: The Age of French Impressionism".  It features many great works of the masters - Pierre Auguste Renoir, Claude Monet, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Georges Seurat, Paul Gaugin, Henri Matisse and so many more.  On the second floor galleries, there are more than 60 paintings and drawings from the Dixon Gallery and Gardens in Memphis, TN.

I recently brought my 4 and 6 year old daughters to Munson to view the exhibit and they had a great time!  There are interactive displays and activities for the kids.  But of course, the snack at the Terrace Cafe was another big highlight of their visit.

"Monet to Matisse: The Age of French Impressionism" runs through November 29, 2015 at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Genesee Street in downtown Utica, NY.
