Cell phones…seems like just about everyone has one these days, including children I’ve seen as young as 10 years old.  Probably younger, but that’s the youngest that I have seen so far.  They have rapidly become a large part of our day to day life, there is no doubt about it

As a parent, I can certainly vouch that it can be tough sometimes for us to know just exactly what the kids are doing on their cell phones, and that is why it certainly is a good thing that we now have monitoring apps.  My children have not yet reached the age where they have their own cell phone, but my 10 year old daughter has been begging for one.

Everywhere you look now, kids have cell phones.  In the mall, in the theaters, and unfortunately in the cars as they drive down the road.

Many parents worry about how they can keep their kids out of trouble with their phones.  Well, there are several apps that can assist in doing just that.

If you have a teen, it has been highly suggested that you look into some sort of monitoring application.  The newest app out there, actually developed by a mom, is called “Ignore No More.”  You can use the app to lock their phone so they are unable to access Facebook, games, or anything until they call mom.  How about that?  The downside at the moment, is that the app is only available for Android, however, there are more monitoring apps available for all phones.

“Life 360” allows you to monitor your kids using GPS. You can also set it up to get an alert when your kids enter a certain zone, like home for example.

Using the “Life 360” app also lets you see where your child has been.

“Mama Bear” is another free app that allows you to monitor your kids using GPS.

This app also gives you a look at what your children are up to online. Using the app with this feature keeps watch over your kids Facebook feed.

The kids may view it as “spying”, but in my opinion, in this day and age, it has become necessary in an effort to keep them out of trouble.  You see it as for their own good.  Good luck convincing them of that.
