It may not get as much attention as his high-profile day job as an NBC sports analyst, but for the last several decades, Bob Costas has supported a children's medical center in St. Louis -- in fact, his annual benefit for the hospital is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

The 2013 edition of the Bob Costas Benefit, scheduled for April 20 at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, will celebrate a quarter-century of fundraising in style, with a headlining set from John Mellencamp capping off the festivities. As ABC News Radio notes, Mellencamp has some history with the Costas Benefit; he also showed up to play in 2004.

It isn't hard to understand why Mellencamp approves of Costas' efforts. The events help keep the lights on at the Bob Costas Cancer Center, a day hospital inside the St. Louis' SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, offers a place where -- as the website puts it -- "children and their families find a team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing the very best in medical care, while at the same time providing a wide array of services to help throughout the course of cancer treatment."

Tickets for the event, which is scheduled to include stand-up sets from comedians Brian Regan and Joe Bolster, are currently on sale at prices ranging from $35 to $95. If you'd like to attend, call 314-577-5605.
