Every year, my daughter and I venture off to "The Great New York State Fair" in Syracuse. Over the years, we've seen some great performers at Chevy Court...everyone from Herman's Hermits, Blood Sweat & Tears and Judy Collins, to Three Dog Night and Styx! Now, we've just learned that Joan Jett and The Blackhearts are appearing at the fair this summer.

Here are the details, according nysfair.org:

"JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS WILL ROCK THE CHEVY COURT STAGE HARD DURING THE 2014 NEW YORK STATE FAIR

Aug. 27 Concert Will Show the Talents of One of Rock's Greatest Guitarists

Joan Jett, whose signature anthem, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" remains one of the all-time classic songs, will rock the Chevy Court stage during the Great New York State Fair at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27.

At age 14, Joan Jett picked up her first guitar and not long after that she helped turn the rock world upside down for female musicians.

As the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, she's had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and "Crimson and Clover."
