It’s A Nano World – New Exhibit at Utica Children’s Museum
Sing along: "It's a Nano World after all, It's a Nano World after all." It doesn't quite flow like that OTHER song, but it could be the new theme song for the Utica Children's Museum. They're hosting a new exhibit for the summer about all things small, really small. I wanted to see if it could really hold up to the challenge of entertaining my kids (ages 5 & 7) for a morning of education disguised as fun. And it lived up to the challenge. If you haven't been to the Utica Children's Museum, it's 4 floors filled with fun (and yes, educational) stuff for kids to do. There are lots of new exhibits as well as some of the classics I remember as a kid. And they seem to be constantly renovating and updating so the kids won't get bored too quickly.
It's a Nano World takes up most of the 3rd floor of the museum. It gives kids a chance to get up close and personal with things they see everyday. There are lots of hands-on activities, like "dust and germ pinball" and the giant blood cell ball pit/tent. They can check out the huge microscopes and even try out the giant cell sorters.
There is a special "Alice In Nano Land" event coming up on July 25th. You can get all the details by clicking here.
