Back in the 1970’s, UFO sightings were a common theme here in Rome over Griffis. Nowadays there isn’t all too many. However, if you plan on taking a vacation to Myrtle Beach any time soon you better keep your eyes up to the sky.

There have been ongoing frequent sightings of lights in the sky over South Carolina. These sightings have been reported by police, citizens, and pilots. The most recent sighting was reported on August 26th (2012). Footage was shot by Joe Kiernan in North Myrtle Beach. NSFW, the video does have some cursing in it.

Taking a trip back to June of 2012 another big sighting was reported. This was also spotted in North Myrtle Beach.

I recorded at least 7 different objects including a set of twins "somethings" during this video. They all appeared to be moving in different directions and speeds. Although none of the objects change direction or stopped (except when I pivoted the camera) it's important to know that I checked GoSatWatch and Star Walk to see if any of these objects could be known satellites and found that only object #6 was identified as an iridium satellite.”

What could the possible reason be for so many sightings in Myrtle Beach? Just like Rome New York, Myrtle Beach was home to a Airforce Base.

Myrtle Beach Air Force Base is a closed United States Air Force facility, located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It was established in 1940 as a World War II training base and was also used for coastal patrols during the war. After the war it was a front-line USAF base in the Cold War, Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War of 1990.”

Why would there still be UFO’s if the base has closed?
