Craft beer is a booming industry in America right now. Even locally here in Central New York, hops are a very important crop. Learn about the past, and present, of this important crop in Central New York on Thursday October 29th.

The Rome Historical Society will be hosting Matt Urtz, Madison County Historian, for a presentation on the history of hops production in Madison and Oneida counties starting at 6PM. Hops were grown in this region in the 19th century, and have recently made a comeback in this area. This free event will take place in the Rome Historical Society auditorium, and last for approximately one hour. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the program.

The Rome Historical Society is located at 200 Church Street in Rome. You can check out other events they will be hosting in the near future here.
