Listen up coffee drinkers.  This is what you you always love to hear, myself included. There are some serious benefits to drinking coffee.

A new study has indicated that drinking coffee may actually lower the risk of the skin cancer malignant melanoma, which is considered the 5th most common cancer in the country.

But how much does it actually lower the risk, and how much coffee do we have to consume for it to be effective?  Doctors say four or more cups of coffee, so I’m definitely covered, would have a 20 per cent lower risk of the cancer.

Those people answered questions about what they eat, including the drinking of coffee.

The study indicated that decaf coffee would have no effect, but who drinks that stuff anyway?

Some things that were considered in the study include ultraviolet radiation exposure (tanning beds), weight, age, gender, physical fitness, alcohol consumption and smoking.

Now, don’t go out telling all of your friends that Lonnie said you should drink more coffee, I didn’t say that.  Certainly consult your doctor and also consider how your own lifestyle could impact the effectiveness.
