Monday October 3rd is Blue Shirt Day during National Bullying Prevention Awareness month and we want everyone to #GoBlueForBen. He's the 11 year-old Oneida boy who was bullied for walking on the wrong side of the street.

Misty Church says her son, who is a 6th grader in Wampsville, needed stitches after three 8th graders ganged up on him. “One of them punched him in the face, then they stood and watched him bleed and cry before walking away. All because Ben would not walk on the other side of the road.”

Misty says this behavior is “unacceptable” and they have filed charges against the  students and notified the school district. "We just want to raise awareness and hopefully end bullying. This has been a tragedy for us but hopefully many kids will be able to get help because we told our story."

"We're never going to put a stop to bullying, but we can try," says Ben.

Let's help Ben and Misty raise awareness and #GoBlueForBen on Monday, October 3rd. Wear blue and print the #WeGoBlueForBen sign. Take a picture and share it with us. We want to shine light on the bullying problem and show Ben how many in CNY stand behind him in the fight to #STOMPOutBullying.
