Ok, a lot of people have been trying to get a jump start on fall talking about pumpkin spice this, apple that, and so on and so on.  It's officially Fall and Halloween will be here before you know it. So let's get ready for some fun. On Sunday, it was 65 degrees and I saw someone dressed in full winter gear, but if you recall, in the Spring, people were donning the shorts and t-shirts.  Funny how these things work.  I digress.

Fall.  Time for the apple and pumpkin stuff.  Brown and orange, fall foliage reports, sweatshirts, bonfires, hayrides, Friday night football games, corn mazes, cider mills, and so on.  So what is it you like to do in Fall?

I’m sure you may already be aware that Fall in Central New York is one of the most beautiful places to be in this country.  Can you agree?  Let’s take a look at some of the great festivities that happen yearly here in and around the Mohawk Valley.

Critz Farm – Always a family favorite.  If you are an apple lover, this place is a must.  See how cider was made back in the days of yesteryear.  Also, there is tasting involved.   Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.  Get more information here Critz Farms.

Corn Mazes are a lot of fun, even for adults.  Early this week, for the benefit of my wife, who is blonde, I posted a picture on Facebook, of a lone corn stalk with the caption “corn maze for blondes”.  If you want to check out a real corn maze, here are a few you can check out.

Wolf Acres  located in Oneida

If it is a haunted house you prefer, Rome Community Art Center has one of the best in the area.  You can get more info here Rome Community Art Center Haunted House

There are so many things going on all before the snow lands.  Take some time on the weekend or during the week to check some of these places out.  It’s fun for everyone and it helps support the local economy as well.

Hope to see you in the pumpkin patch.
