Earlier this year we told you how Gander Mountain was filing for bankruptcy and closing many of it's stores nationwide. The process of closing the stores has now begun with a huge liquidation sale.

UPDATE: 05/09/17 2:00 P.M. There is some confusion as to whether or not the New Hartford Gander Mountain location will remain open.

Apparently, the company that handles the liquidation of the stores has control of the website and is clearing out all of the stores before the new owner takes over.

On Twitter, the store's new owner Marcus Lemonis said that he plans to keep 32 stores open with this tweet:

We placed a call to the New Hartford location and were told they could give us no information other than what is on the website at GanderMountain.com, and Lemonis' Twitter page, but according to that, New Hartford is staying open for now.

That information on GanderMountain.com can be seen below:

When you visit GanderMountain.com, the only thing you find on the website is a gigantic picture of a flyer that reads:

"All 126 Locations Nationwide Going out of Business

Total Liquidation Savings

All Firearms, Ammunition, Shooting, Hunting, Archery Apparel, Footwear, Camping, Fishing, Boating and More!

Everything Must Go Now!"

The flyer also says that Gander Mountain gift cards will be accepted until May 18.

If the New Hartford location does indeed remain open, you'll still be able to take advantage of the sale during liquidation and also at these other locations in New York State:

  • Henrietta
  • Tonawanda
  • Plattsburgh
  • Middletown
  • Johnson City
  • Kingston

So if you're in need of any camping/fishing gear for the summer, or you want to stock up for hunting season, get to the New Hartford Gander Mountain before everything is gone.

Just maybe leave a few coolers and camping gear for me....
