The haunted grounds and homicidal animatronics of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza are moving to Hollywood as Warner Bros. gears up for a Five Nights at Freddy's feature film.

ScreenCrush reports that Five Nights at Freddy's will be joining the likes of The Last of Us, Uncharted and Assassin's Creed as modern video games that are get being made into full length feature films. What makes the Five Nights at Freddy's series stand out from these other high-profile games is that it was developed and written by a single person, Scott Cawthon. On top of Cawthon being a one-man band of game development, he released all three Freddy games in a short amount of time, with the first title hitting steam in Aug. 2014, the next in Nov. 2014 and the third (and possibly final) game launching in March 2015. Seth Grahame-Smith will be producing the movie. Grahame-Smith is the author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as well as Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. He also wrote the scripts for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows and the upcoming sequel to Beetlejuice. Producing alongside Grahame-Smith is his usual partner, David Katzenberg. The duo will be producing the film adaptation of Five Night's at Freddy's with Warner Bros. distributing the film.

The thing we love about the Five Nights at Freddy's trilogy isn't its unique, camera-based gameplay or its jump scares, but its overall lore. While Cawthon did a tremendous job in making all three games horrific (in a good way), he also put together an impressive narrative. The games center around Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, a farce of the Chuck E. Cheese franchise, but with only one main restaurant. One day, five children were killed at this restaurant by a serial killer dressed as one of the animatronics who lured them into a closed room. Frustrated that no one was there to protect them, the children's spirits then began to haunt the animatronics, which would roam the restaurant's halls after hours, killing anyone at night who wasn't in an animatronic suit.

Stay tuned as we'll provide up-to-date coverage on the Five Nights at Freddy's film once more information is available.
