Do you want a totally unique experience that includes music, theatre, art, street performers and everything in between? Then you need to visit Rochester, New York's Fringe Fest from September 14-23rd.

What is Fringe Fest? Fringe Fest is one of the world's largest arts festival and is held on the East end of Rochester.  It began in 2012 and has grown every year since. For ten days you can enjoy different performances and exhibitions from photography, video, abstract sculpture, music from jazz, to Japanese performance drumming, soul, R&B, comedy and street theatre.  If that is not enough, enjoy delicious food, beer, wine and spirit tasting, afternoon tea, pumpkin carving, and vendors. Many of the events at Fringe Fest are free of charge.

One of the shows I find particularly interesting is Plasticiens Volants in Big Bang being held on September 15th and 16th at 8 pm at Parcel 5.  The name alone is intriguing to me. What is Plasticiens Volants? It is a world renowned French company that performed at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Huge, giant, colorful puppets float over your head and around you while music is being played along with pyrotechnics. From what I have read it is a feast for the senses.

So if you like, art, culture, music, food in a party atmosphere, place Fringe Fest in September on your bucket list. There is a calendar of events at RochesterFringe.com.
