It's "Heart Health Month" this month, and according to the Centers For Disease Control And Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. There a number of measures you can take to maintain a healthy heart.

According to the cdc.gov,

"The situation is alarming, but there is good news—heart disease is preventable and controllable. We can start by taking small steps every day to bring our loved ones and ourselves closer to heart health. CDC is providing a tip a day throughout February, but you can take these small steps all year long.

Eat a healthy diet.

Maintain a healthy weight.

Exercise regularly.

Monitor your blood pressure.

Don't smoke.

Limit alcohol use.

Have your cholesterol checked."

And, you can participate in the WIBX Heart Radiothon, February 28th and March 1st, and America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk on March 1st. Both benefit the research carried out by the American Heart Association.
