It's hard to believe it's been a year since Kane Buss was killed in a drunk driving accident. Family and friends remembered the Oneida teen by sending balloons to the Buss family.

Claudette Buss says her son may be gone, but he's far from forgotten.

Today is other hard one in the Buss house. We would like to do something today in honor of our angel Kane Buss. At 5:30 at Oneida high school we would like all who want to attend to let balloons off for our boy. At 5:45 put on a Luke Bryan song, your favorite or his, and release a balloon with your message to him. A huge thank you to everyone who has messaged us today.

The weather didn't cooperate for a launch, so balloon pictures were sent to the Buss family on Facebook.

Leonard Glowacki was accused of running into Buss' vehicle on Hiawatha Boulevard, near Destiny USA. He pled guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault.

Trees were planted at Destiny USA and Oneida high school last August to keep Buss' memory growing for years.

Toby Keith and Darius Rucker both honored Buss at their concerts, wearing Kane Buss bracelets on stage.
