I've never seen the 'hidden ball trick' pulled off. It won the game for Rye and was voted ESPN's Top play for May, 23rd 2015. A player pretends to throw the ball and the team reacts. The runner thinks he did throw the ball and is tagged out. Game over. Rye then moves on to win the championship later in the day.

I've never even tried this play. Is it even part of the game? Is it a cheap way to win? Is it cheating? Is that how you want to remember the win?

It's completely legal and another reason to keep your eye on the ball.
