Demkowitch Family Benefit

Shauna Jones-Demkowitch is expecting her 3rd Child and is in her 5th month of pregnancy. Their growing unborn child was recently diagnosed with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele, causing an unfused portion of the spinal column to allow the spinal cord to protrude through an opening in the lower back. Shauna and baby Demkowitch are eligible to undergo prenatal Spina Bifida surgery. Following the surgery she will be required to remain on bed rest until the birth of the child and must remain within 20 miles of Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, PA A family member is required to be with her at all times to monitor and provide care. This benefit will be conducted to assist in providing the family funding for the many costs and effects of the procedure, along with travel and housing expenses.
