Additional Information

Laxmi Meharjan excelled at weaving, even when she was a girl.  Her weavings were sold, but her earnings went to her father and later to her husband.  When Laxmi began working with Serrv’s partner in Nepal, she took her earnings into her own hands for the first time in her life.  She put her daughter, Sudha through school, with Sudha earning a Master’s degree in social work. You can help people like Laxmi by shopping at our Building Stones Fair Trade Shoppe, Stone Presbyterian Church, 8 So. Park Row, Clinton.  We have unique handmade items from 37 different countries for your shopping enjoyment.  You will be surprised at our selections.  Our mission is to help people from underdeveloped countries lift themselves out of poverty.  Our shop is open every Thursday from 10am to 6:30pm and on second Saturdays from 10am to 4pm in the church basement.  The entrance is on Williams Street.  We are also present every Thursday at the Farmer’s Market on the Village Green in Clinton from 10am to 4pm until October 6th.  For more information, call 315-853-2933, visit our website at www.stonepres.org or like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/stonepres.
