With a name like Greg McShea, you know I'm a wee bit Irish, but those that are and those that aren't will enjoy "The Great American Irish Festival" this weekend. Here's what it's all about.

The 9th Annual GAIF is produced by the Great American Irish Festival, Inc., a non-profit organization comprised solely of volunteers (approximately 750 this year) whose goal is to establish the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley. Proceeds from the event will be dedicated to obtaining this goal, hopefully in the very near future."

I've been to The Great American Irish Festival over the years, and if you go, you can enjoy authentic Irish food, beers (for the 21 and over crowd) music and dancing. One of my favorite contemporary Irish bands is "The Elders", who will be playing at the festival this weekend. After seeing them perform, I bought one of their CDs and love it!
