You remember that old saying, "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,". Well, July is National Ice Cream Month, and as central New York is home to a number of dairy farms, there are local and regional ice cream companies making it that good old-fashioned way.

Most people have a favorite flavor, and it always seems like when the kids are small they either like chocolate or vanilla (no maple walnut or pistachio for them). Then, as we grow older, we grow more adventurous with our ice cream flavors. And, many ice cream parlors you may visit have 31 flavors, and then some...decisions, decisions.

Someone definitely knows what they're doing, when they selected July, one of the hottest months of the year as National Ice Cream Month. I can't imagine it would have as big an impact if they had decided on January.

And, National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 20th! Happy eating!
