Hot on the heels of 'Wise Up Ghost,' his upcoming album with the Roots, Elvis Costello has announced a string of headlining solo dates -- the first he's done on the east coast in a decade.

The Elvis Costello -- Solo tour comprises 13 intimate performances taking place in November (starting Nov. 2 in Burlington, Vt., and wrapping up Nov. 19 in Orono, Maine), all in support of the Sept. 17 release of ‘Wise Up Ghost.'

The new album -- Costello's first in three years -- came about thanks to his many appearances on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,’ where the Roots are the house band.

“After [his] third appearance, we liked him so much we were like, ‘Hey, why don’t we make a record?’” explained Ahmir ‘?uestlove’ Thompson, the Roots' drummer and bandleader. “What went from being one song to be released on Record Store Day became ‘Why don’t we try four songs?’ Now we have a brilliant album.”
