You probably haven't had much of a need for ice melt this year...so far anyway, knock on wood.  Check out this home remedy for a safe and more economical way to melt ice from your sidewalks and driveway.  It certainly is a lot safer than the chemical melts you find in the stores.  Here's the good news, it really works.  This is what you need to make it.

1/2 a gallon of warm water
6 drop of liquid dish detergent
2 ounces of rubbing alcohol

Mix all of these together in a milk jug and you're all set!
