Marina del Ray, CA (WIBX) – The United States Geological Survey is confirming that a 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook the Los Angeles area at 3:18am.  The earthquake followed a quake in Indonesia shortly after midnight that measured 6.4 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was about three miles from Culver City and was felt throughout Los Angeles.  It lasted between three and five seconds and is said to have been 5.6 miles deep.

No injuries or damage have been reported.  This is the second earthquake that rated 3.0 or above in the area during the past ten days.
