Don’t Be Surprised If You See Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore In Utica

You never know when you'll see Vinny Pastora AKA, Big Pussy from the Sopranos around town as he has ties to the area.

Vinny Pastora was in the area for the “Forgetaboutit Italian Comedy,” at the del Lago Resort and Casino in Waterloo and Cindy had a chance to chat with him. When asked what his favorite Utica food is Vinny answers "Italian food - what are you nuts? My aunts from Utica...I go there to drink the beer."

Vinny got the acting bug a little later in life and Matt Dillion is not actually the one who go him started. "If we're gonna be true about it was really Kevin Dillon, Matty was there, but it was really Kevin who got me my first appointment. Yes, it was the Dillon brothers." They all knew each other because of Vinny's bars back in the 80's in New Rochell.  "The kids (Dillon brothers) used to come to the bars to hang out with us and there were many nights I would take these kids home and drop them off on their porch. That's a true story. And I'm still friends with them as of now."

Vinny said being in the Sopranos was wonderful, but the whole first year you're doing it, you don't know if it was going to be a big hit. "They tape 13 episodes, and then they aired it. By the time we went into season 2 it was turning out to be a hit with a lot of people on the set, getting a lot of press and everything." Vinny goes on to say how sad it was that we lost Jimmy (James Gandolfini).
